After forming early in 2007 Guitarist/Vocalist Jaz Munro, Percussionist Glen Mcclymont and Drummer Zac Page all from the North Coast of NSW have established themselves as one of the most exciting and unique bands in the industry. After borrowing the talents of Saul Burrows on Keys the independent release of the E.P featuring the track “on & on” is proof that their future will be bright and that The Ninth Chapter are sure to be a group to look out for.

The Others

 Forming "The Others" back in Adelaide in 1963 were Ian Nancarrow and the late Terry Radford. Influencing many bands back then such as "The Masters Apprentices", who credited Ian for giving them the idea for the bands name.
The band have survived countless long road trips (with the associated incidents, smashes and, of course, a few serious parties!) let downs, break ups, personal tragedies, impossible schedules - in fact all the traumas and dramas every band may experience.

Despite these setbacks, the music has
remained the driving force of Australian Rock Blues.
Ian Nancarrow is still rockin' this boat with guitar and harmonica joined by Jeff Gurr on bass, Jeff Bateman on drums and Steven Korovljev' on guitar and newest member Richard Fryerl keeping the vocals powerful and honest.

When you have heard every blues band - then it is time to hear "The Others".

Mississippi Shakedown was created for 3 reasons:

1. our insatiable love of the music of Elmore James

2.the love of the sound of a distorted Slide Guitar

3. Bruce Iglauer from Alligator Records (US), the world's leading blues label, liked some songs that Jeff Cripps (our guitarist) had written for other bands... so then it was 2 phone calls... hey let's start a band! We did and we have.

Mississippi Shakedown is a band with a minimum of FUSS with a maximum of EFFECT. A 3 piece unit led by blues rock charged SLIDE GUITAR... with a "Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus" attitude.

Fronted by Mississippi Jeff Cripps, well known owner of A Sharp Recording Studio and 2002, 2003 + 2005 Australian Blues Music Awards "Producer Of The Year."

Like many poets and players before him, Alex Legg grew up in working class Scotland. His gritty background informs his writing and imbues his songs with a down-to-earth ring of reality. He is a political animal. An astute observer of the world around him, with a particular interest in the machinations of politicians and power brokers of all persuasions.

Legg’s unique playing style has intrigued audiences on different continents. Fascinated musicians and attentive punters often find themselves looking for extra players on the stage, even though they know there is only one guy up there with a guitar.

Alex Legg communicates with an audience because his songs reflect their life. The pain, the pleasure, the passion. Suffering, sensuality and a sense of justice.

Suzannah Espie & Big Boy Lemonade

Suzannah Espie was a member of country-rock outfit GIT. They recorded several albums, collaborated with guitar legend Bill Kirchen and
toured Australia and the US. Suzannah has released two albums with her own band.

Andrew Ogburn is a highly sought after pianist. He’s played all over the world, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and
gigs with musical greats Art and Cyril Neville.

They won the 2007 Melbourne Blues Performer of the Year Award and performed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Their album, “Let It Slide”, won 2008 Solo/Duo Album Of The Year at the Vic/ Tas Blues Awards.

As one of the judges of the Melbourne Blues Performer Of The Year Awards, it was a great thrill to watch Suzannah Espie & Big Boy Lemonade win and also to attend the International Blues Challenge In Mempis to support them. They have made Australia very proud....cheers Jillian

Danny Burton was the runner up in the 2006 Melbourne Blues Appreciation
Society's 'Blues Player Of The Year Competition'
Danny plays original blues and roots music and released his debut album 'Take a step back' at the end of 2005.
Since that time he has been building a strong presence in the Melbourne scene and has shared festival bills with the likes ofMia Dyson, Ash Grunwald, Chris Wilson, Shane Howard and
Andy Cowan to name a few.
The album was produced and engineered by
Chris 'Darkie' Wilson and features Chris on keyboards, Les Oldman on drums, Paul Gadsby on bass and ofcourse Danny on acoustic and electric guitar, lapsteel and vocals.
Danny is currently performing as a solo artist and working on a solo album wich will hopefully be released some timein 2009.

Todd Cook

From remote Northern Territory to his homeland in regional Victoria Todd Cook’s debut album “So Long” is a combination of songs that delves into issues about living in a remote community, and in the wider population. It reflects the environment that surrounded him within these two different but similar communities.The album was recorded and produced at Sound Farm Studios in Gippsland using local session musicians who now form a slick roots outfit called the Audiodavinas. Comprising of Todd’s long time friend Dave Cuthbertson on keys and backing vocals, double bass player Pete Howell and percussion player Ian Clark (with both over 40 years experience) makes for a solid line up of rootsy goodness.

Live shows are a must see, bringing the audience through a range of emotions. It leaves them with an experience and richness like the lands where these songs were written and developed.

Richie Pavledis’ fifth solo album sees him presenting his songs in a bare bones manner – just voice, acoustic guitar, the occasional drums and percussion. Phil (Gandharva) Bailey on bass, recorded and mastered by James Hewgill.
Currently residing in the icy climes of the far Northern Hemisphere, the sound of his album, though, is pure Australiana.
There are some terrific numbers here.
Throughout, the production is simple but crisp, so that the essence of Pavledis as a solo performer is captured faithfully and realistically.
And with songs like these, any additional fiddly bits would simply be a distraction.
Big voice, classy performances and warm melodies.
