The Others

Forming "The Others" back in Adelaide in 1963 were Ian
Nancarrow and the late Terry Radford. Influencing many bands back then such as "The Masters Apprentices", who credited Ian
for giving them the idea for the bands name.
The band have survived countless long road trips (with the
associated incidents, smashes and, of course, a few serious
parties!) let downs, break ups, personal tragedies, impossible
schedules - in fact all the traumas and dramas every band
may experience. Despite these setbacks, the music has
remained the driving force of Australian Rock Blues.
Ian Nancarrow is still rockin' this boat with guitar and
harmonica joined by Jeff Gurr on bass, Jeff Bateman on drums
and Steven Korovljev' on guitar and newest member David
Skull keeping the vocals powerful and honest.
When you have heard every blues band - then it is time to
hear "The Others".

Andrea Marr

Watch Me Work It is the title song of Andrea Marr's latest
album of raunchy Soul/Blues. Without pretension, Watch Me
Work It encompasses the full emotional range of what it is to
be a woman: fearless and unapologetic at times.
Andrea Marr takes her gospel-influenced vocals from the likes
of Etta James. Her emotionally gutsy phrasing is reminiscent
of KoKo Taylor. However, Watch Me Work It is distinctly
Australian Soul/Blues and features Lloyd Spiegel on guitar.
Critically acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Andrea Marr lives
in Melbourne Australia and has made a huge impact on the
Australian Blues community. She won Female Blues Artist of
the year in 2002 and in 2005 won the coveted "Blues
Performer of the Year Award" representing Australia in the
International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee.
If you like Sassy, Soulful Blues, with Raw Passion and great
delivery that makes you a part of every song then you are
going to love Andrea Marr.

Artist: Bluestone

"Evry Hour Evry Day"
Album:
Fast Track

Bluestone

If you like hot guitar phrasing, sharp-toned riffs and vocals
interacting with blues harp with your low-down contemporary,
sensual blues, then you'll enjoy Bluestone.
Bluestone are a 3 piece rock' n' blues band based in Adelaide.
The song Evry' Hour Evry" Day is off the album Fast Track.
With melancholy vocals with Kidd reciting his misfortunes,
while the musicians fan a smouldering fire with bracing guitar
solos and a tense struggle for sonic domination. Coupled with
subtle string bending, clean licks, blistering runs, spitting
chops and trotting skins, you have a cooking good sound.

Mike Beale & Men In Blues

Men In Blues are reinventing the genre for a modern audience.
Combining modern blues with a groove-based dynamic, this
three piece band are playing their songs to ever increasing
audiences. With vocalist guitarist, Mike Beale up front and a
truly dazzling rhythm section they are sliding, grooving and
infusing their way into the worlds of audiences everywhere.
At a fill in gig in late 2003 Mike struck a common cord with
some local players, a love of groove based blues and roots
music. Once together they began the process of musical fusion
- a coming together of ideas and styles - out of which the band
Men In Blues was formed. "We take the traditional blues style
and twist it, finding a groove and keeping the music up".

Richie Pavledis

The latest offering from the wonderful Richie Pavledis is a
studio album that really recreates the feel of his live stage
performances so well.
There are a couple of tracks that I thought I'd only hear live,
but Richie has put them on this disc to demonstrate his great
versatility across a large variety of genres. Richie gets a little
help in the studio from the very respected Paul Marvin, who
provides some bass, electric guitar and keyboards.
To add to his repertoire, Richie also provided the painting that
was used as the cover image - truly amazing!

Black & Blues

Originating from the Western Suburbs of Sydney and raised on
the blue collar ethic of hard playing to the sweaty beerhall
punters in the grand old tradition of Aussie pub bands, Black &
Blues have forged a blues sound part Chicago, part Texas, part
swing, but all about Australia.
The five piece has always included keyboards, guitar and
harmonica, but had undergone some lineup changes before
settling down to record.
To date, a live cd, “Live at the Cat & Fiddle”, was released and
followed up by their powerful, original “Stung” cd. Further
recordings are in the works and will be eagerly awaited by
their growing number of fans.

Craig Sinclair (acoustic and lap steel guitars, vocals) combines
crisp finger style slide guitar playing with soulful vocals and
contemporary original folk-blues songwriting.
The rootsy and distinctly Australian angle on these songs is
always at the forefront. Craig’s playing style has been likened
to blues players like Kelly Joe Phelps and Jeff Lang.

Jacmac

No stranger to the public forum, Jack busked on the streets of
Perth for 13 years. He used busking as a way to try out new
material, both original music and standard covers. He has
carved his way as a lead vocalist in an eclectic mix of bands
from an 8-piece Soul band to an Acoustic Trio with names like
- Conspiracy, Grid X1X, Rocket Fuel, Gallows Pole, Acoustic
Royale, Frost, SLS, and even some bearing his own moniker:
Jack & the Stray Dogs, Jack & the Sound Dogs, and recently
Jack Mack.
With a huge vocal range, and energy to burn, this powerful
singer has made a name for himself by giving the crowd what
they want. Jack’s latest single, “Prayin For Rain”, captures the
essence of a live performance, good feeling, good music, good
